Water Well Costs

Potential Costs

Water wells constructed using modern technology, materials and construction procedures will last longer than water wells that do not. Water quality, the stability of local geology, well construction materials and methods installation will determine the actual years of useful life a newly constructed well can be expected to have.

The yearly-amortized costs of well construction are substantially reduced when all the known factors of the newly constructed water well’s environment are factored into its pre-constructed design. Eaton Drilling Co., Inc. prides itself in the pre-construction phase of our well drilling projects including learning all the known conditions of your specific site, your intended use of the new well and a presentation of a proposed well design with an accompanying explanation of our recommendations.

As with many items purchased, the true costs of water wells are not found only in construction. The energy costs of lifting the water will rise dramatically as production rates are increased. In today’s business environment rising energy costs are appearing to be one of the major considerations in determining a successful venture. Of utmost importance in our well design phase is your new wells pumping water level for anticipated rates of production. Over time the costs of energy whether you chose electricity or a petroleum source will have a high impact on your water costs.

Developing an estimated pre-well construction cost. Eaton Drilling Co., Inc. will provide at no cost a written estimate based on at a minimum of the following criteria:

  • Permitting
  • Mobilization and demobilization of our drilling equipment
  • Site access and preparation
  • Test hole drilling
  • Drilling sample collection
  • Geo-physical logging
  • Sieve analysis of drilling samples at our in-house lab
  • Explanation and review of a proposed well design considering all known factors involved with you well drilling project, including a revised pre-construction cost
  • Reaming borehole and material installation
  • Filter pack materials with the appropriate method of installation
  • Surface seal
  • Preliminary well development

Quotes

The staff at Eaton Drilling Co., Inc. has many years of experience and organized information that is used in developing a well construction cost estimate. Many times we can provide a written cost estimate from information gathered during a phone call, or we will gladly arrange a site visit at your convenience and location to provide the most accurate proposal.

One of the items that will have a high impact on well construction and installation costs will be the depth. Other important factors will be mobilization and demobilization of our equipment and the degree of site restoration desired by our client. Eaton Drilling Co., Inc. will provide costs for tasks routinely completed by our crews and provide alternatives for those tasks that can be completed in a more cost effective manner by others.

The staff at Eaton Drilling Co., Inc. will gather all information necessary and submit applications with appropriated fees to permitting agencies. Additionally, we submit all final well construction reports appropriate state and local jurisdictions.

Eaton Drilling Co., Inc. maintains insurance coverage at responsible limits for the work we do.

Well Location

Local permitting requirements will be a factor in selecting the location of a-new water well. The distance from other existing or potential site improvements and an ability of position well drilling equipment of reasonably more well construction material at the well site are a consideration.
